I have been in the cosmetology industry since 1996. After finishing cosmetology school in the midwest I acquired a chair at a local salon/spa in Omaha, Nebraska. They sent me to training classes all over the country to learn cutting, coloring, retexture, and styling techniques from the leaders in the hair industry. I was fascinated by the new places and loved learning from other stylists. I took full advantage of every class that was offered.

In 2001 my husband Lewis and I took a vacation to Portland. We fell in love with the city and decided to make Portland our home. It was difficult to leave our loving families and friends but felt like we needed to see what Portland had to offer. I was then employed by a salon in Portland. While there, I shared techniques with fellow stylists and became a mentor. A few years later I became an independent stylist.

Working in Portland I learned the importance of using natural products. I believe you can achieve healthy, beautiful hair without the use of harsh chemicals. I specialize in styles with natural movement and texture,razor haircutting, color, and formal hairstyling.

Joseph has been working in the beauty industry since 2002. He loves people and art.

In addition to doing hair he is a part-time student at PCC, a performance artist, singer, and writer. Beth has been doing hair for over eight years. She enjoys the creativity of styling hair and helping people to look and feel their best. She specializes in cuts, color, and permanent thermal straightening. Beth just recently graduated from Portland State University with a BA in film and when she is not doing hair she is usually working on a screenplay, watching way too many movies, doing yoga, and hanging out with her husband Joe and her cat Kato.

Cari Johnson graduated from the Cosmetology Program at Phagan's School of Hair Design, in 1998, earning certifications in Hair, Nail, and Facial Technology. Her passion is for hair design and high-quality hair cuts for men, women and children. She provides full color services including highlighting and corrective color. She also provides brow waxing upon request.

Cari loves her position at Enhance. New clients are always welcome. She strives to make each one happy and feel great about their experience.

Besides spending time with her family, Cari loves reading, writing and being outdoors. A Northwest native, she enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, and fishing.

Hair and art have been my passion for as long as I can remember. I feel as though hair is an art in many respects. I strive to educate my clients to make everyone feel more beautiful and confident when they leave my chair. Listening and hearing what my clients want and helping them achieve their vision is my goal. You can't cut everyone's hair the same way because everyone has different hair. With that approach, I like to give my clients their own signature and detailed cut and color. I also offer facial waxing services at competitive prices.

Consultations and continuous education are what make me a confident stylist. I am educated in numerous color lines and applications. I am also constantly learning new cutting techniques and am confident with curly hair, as well. Additionally, I aim to use earth-friendly products and practices to protect our environment. I feel so fortunate to be able to love what I do every day and love the people I work with. As many of my clients know, I was able to move to Portland after attending a top Aveda Institute in the Midwest. I love Portland and have never been happier -- and I believe a happy stylist makes for a happy client.
